CFA UK Society: Influencing Styles

On Wednesday this week, I was honoured with the opportunity to present to the CFA Society in London on the topic of influencing styles. The event was fully booked and evoked lively debate, with frequent allusions to particular styles prevalent in Financial Services. Unfortunately, time did not allow for full answers to all of the many questions which arose: so, to make up for that I wanted to share some further reflections on the more prominent questions which are worthy of serious consideration. Questions like...

  • If you flex your style, will this make you less credible/trustable/authentic?
  • Are British people higher than the norm in Sociability and Networking?
  • Do different styles suit different jobs?
  • My determination score was much lower than I expected, why?
  • What's involved in the other areas of influence you mentioned?
  • How do I get my boss to listen to me? We're both very high on Sociability and Networking.
  • (You'll need to login/register to be able to see these comments.)

If you have other questions which you'd like more detailed answers to, please feel free to post them here and I'll answer them as soon as I can.

We'd love to hear what you think about this. Please email us or visit us on Google+.
